We host a wide range of predominantly Fediverse based services
Well, apart from being an awesome and welcoming community of people, here at TGT we host multiple different services that are free for you to use- so long as you are happy to abide by our rules and terms of use. Nothing complicated, nothing wordy, just be kind and respectful to those around you. We are a safe and inclusive community- we include people from all walks of life regardless of gender, identity or beliefs.
Payment is not required- but donations are always welcome if you were able and felt we earned it. We are totally community funded and any help with hosting costs is always appreciated.
Most of the services we host are based on the Fediverse. What the hell is the Fediverse? Well, ask your parents. Actually, don't. Check out either of the two below for a quick, easy explanation:

NOTE: before signing up to any of these services, keep in mind we also offer an SSO (Single Sign On) service to minimise you having to create multiple accounts across all of our services.
Discourse: a forum, but with live chat too
The Gamers' Tavern's main community hub
This is where the bulk of our community lives. We self host our own, modified instance of Discourse. It isn't just a forum, we also have a live chat functionality too. Why not Discord? I hear you ask- we did, once upon a time. But then Discord started up with some real shenanigans that made us, and everyone around us very uncomfortable. We wrote a blog post about the whole debacle here. So, rather than grumble about it, we upped sticks and moved to Discourse. Private, decentralised, self hosted, ad free and with zero data harvesting- it's a great place to be.

Mastodon: A Fediverse Social Network

We self host our own Mastodon Instance. If you don't know what Mastodon is, this 180 second video explains it.
Put simply, it is a social network with no algorithm, no tracking and no ads.

(keep in mind, because there is no algorithm, you are the algorithm. Like planting a vegetable patch, you have to curate your own timeline.)

PeerTube: like YouTube, but without the ads
We self host a Peertube instance with a free to use tier, with additional paid subscription options to allow for increased storage (storage isn't free or cheap these days huh)

Live streaming is avaliable to use across all of these memberships.
Across ALL of these memberships, the ability to live stream on your channel is included!
Of course, we have set of rules and respect we'd like you to follow- simply to try and avoid it becoming a anxiety inducing cesspit like some other video sites (no names needed...)
All accounts are manually approved as it helps us keep out spam bots and toxic content, so please be patient once you've submitted the application. Also, space is limited- so please only create an account if you're genuinely looking to use the account on a regular basis.
Pixelfed with TGT: a photomode for your gaming life
What if there was Instagram...but without Meta, without ads, without tracking and algorithm? Well, that's where Pixelfed comes in.
Pixelfed also runs on the Fediverse, but with a focus solely on photo content.
As usual, account signup approvals are manual, to avoid spam, bots and toxic content.
