First we redecorated, now we've...refurnished? No...refurb...no...we...new bar staff!

Sep 2, 2026

Yeah I still can't figure this analogy out. I'll do better next time.

The Tavern keeps growing, with the length of Alex's beard comes extra services and members- all needing extra hands on deck to keep things running smoothly.

To that end, we've brought on board two extra new people- who will specifically be focusing on event creation and management within the Tavern, as well as extra moderation bits here and there when needed.

Welcome to: Sunie & Darke!

Events? What is this, a cult?

At The Gamers' Tavern, we like to have events and get togethers where we all congregate on voice chat or in game and have a good time. But, given that we're split across all different parts of the world and timezones, it gets a bit difficult to to the ad hoc "You up? Game?". So, as such, we find it easier to book in advance a date each week where we do a regular game or event that we're interetsed in, or want to join in with. Anyone can join in, it's not an exclusive club.

We've already had this in place with Tuesday becoming our regular get together evening, where we've recently been playing RV There Yet which has been an absolute hoot and had us all falling over laughing at various points. Previously, we've played Satisfactory, Helldivers 2, Arc Raiders and Farming Simulator 22.

We also have a regular event on Fridays playing Final Fantasy XIV for those MMO lovers out there.

Other events we may be prospecting the idea of in future:

  • A Linux Cafe get together - not a real cafe, but we set up a voice chat room on Mumble where we can all help troubleshoot Linux things with each other and share neat tips and tricks.
  • Quiz nights - really leaning into that Tavern vibe

For now though, feel free to check out the bio of Sunie & Darke in the Staff section here. Welcome aboard!
